Minimum wage increased for 2023 Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) November 28, 2022 IMPACT — MEDIUM The Irish government announced that it would increase the minimum wage by 7% in 2023. Key Points: Ireland’s hourly national minimum wage will increase on by 80 cents from €10.50 to €11.30. The new minimum wage will take effect Jan. 1, 2023. The increase in minimum wage will impact non-European Economic Area workers who are on the Atypical Working Scheme or hold a(n): Internship Employment permit. Intra-Company Transfer permit. Contract for Service Employment permit. Additional Information: The minimum wage is relevant to all workers in Ireland, including employee card holders whose wages cannot be lower than the minimum wage. Foreign workers must be paid above the minimum wage. BAL Analysis: Businesses may see a slight increase in labor costs because of the new minimum wage.
