Invitations to apply for permanent residency up significantly in latest Express Entry draw

What is the change? Canada conducted its 28th Express Entry draw of the year Wednesday, issuing 2,750 invitations to apply for permanent residency. The lowest qualifying score was 439.

What does the change mean? The number of invitations was up significantly over the previous draw. The lowest qualifying score was 19 points lower. On the whole, Canada continues to accept a high number of individuals for permanent residency.

BAL Analysis: The most recent draw continues Canada’s trend this year of issuing a high number of invitations for permanent residency. More than 80,000 invitations have been issued so far this year, outpacing the number that were issued in all of 2016 and 2015 combined.
