Background: One of the worst monsoons to hit South Asia in years has killed at least 1,200 and left parts of Bangladesh, India and Nepal under water. Government offices and schools were closed for part of Tuesday and all day Wednesday, while public transportation also was shut down. Normal operations began to resume Thursday.
