Electronic residence cards to be required for EU dependents Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) May 26, 2023 IMPACT — MEDIUM The Italian government has announced that it will require family members of nationals of EU countries to have an electronic resident card in August. Key Points: Family members of nationals of EU countries must convert their paper residence card to an electronic permit by Aug. 3. Paper residence permits will no longer be valid after Aug. 3. Applications for electronic residence permits can be submitted at local Italian post offices or police stations.
