Immigration News - Employment-based visas, Global mobility, Canada Canada | OINP Skilled Trades Stream applications suspended Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) November 17, 2025 The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced it is suspending the Express Entry: Skilled Trades Stream and will return all outstanding applications. Key Points: In reviewing the Skilled Trades Stream, OINP identified systemic compliance and enforcement concerns relating to the stream, specifically with regard to eligibility criteria. OINP determined the Skilled Trades Stream is vulnerable to misrepresentation or fraud, undermining its ability to meet immediate labor market needs in Ontario. OINP has suspended receiving Skilled Trades Stream applications and will return outstanding applications and their corresponding fees. Skilled Trades Stream applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for one of the other OINP streams may submit a new Expression of Interest to be considered for future draws.
