Immigration News - United States US diplomatic personnel expelled from Venezuela Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) January 23, 2019 IMPACT – HIGH Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced that he is cutting all political and diplomatic ties with the United States and has ordered all diplomatic personnel to leave the country within 72 hours. Key points: Individuals seeking services at U.S. missions in Venezuela should prepare for suspension in services. It will become clearer which services, if any, will remain available once the U.S. State Department releases an official statement. Background: Maduro’s announcement came hours after President Donald Trump officially recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s president.
