The Chilean Ministry of Health has updated its travel restrictions and announced that non-resident foreigners who have a Mobility Pass will be able to enter the country as of Oct. 1.

Entry restrictions:

  • Non-resident foreigners who do not have a Mobility Pass will not be able to enter the country; only Chilean nationals, foreign residents and non-resident foreigners who have a Mobility Pass will be able to enter the country through any border crossing.
    • To obtain a Mobility Pass, non-resident foreigners must validate their vaccinations through this website. The vaccination validation may take up to a month to complete.
    • Non-resident foreigners who have a valid Mobility Pass may only enter the country through the airports in Antofagasta, Iquique and Santiago.
  • Before entering the country, travelers must complete a sworn health form, have a negative PCR test and purchase travel medical insurance.
  • Travelers must undergo a mandatory quarantine for seven days if they do not have a Mobility Pass; quarantines will be reduced to five days for those with a pass.

Exit restrictions:

  • Only Chilean nationals and foreign residents who have a valid Mobility Pass will be able to leave the country through any border crossing (minors are exempt from the mobility pass requirement).
    • Non-resident foreigners who have a valid Mobility Pass may only leave the country through the airports in Antofagasta, Iquique and Santiago.
  • Chilean nationals and foreign residents who do not a valid Mobility Pass must request an extraordinary authorization for travel through the Virtual Police platform to be leave the country.

Additional Information: Exemptions to the travel restrictions include but are not limited to: those transporting cargo to and from national territory; those transiting through the country; and non-resident children of Chilean nationals or foreign residents living in the country.
