Humanitarian visa made available to Ukrainian nationals Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) March 9, 2022 IMPACT – MEDIUM The Brazilian government has made a humanitarian visa available to Ukrainian nationals and stateless persons affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Key Points: As of March 3, Ukrainian nationals and stateless person displaced by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine are now eligible for a two-year residence permit that allows them to live and work in Brazil. Ukrainian nationals and stateless persons can apply for the two-year residence permit at any Brazilian consulate. Applicants should bring a valid passport, travel documentation from Ukraine to Brazil and a non-criminal records certificate. New applications can be made until Aug. 31, 2022, subject to further extensions. Additional Information: More information regarding the two-year residence permit is available here. BAL Analysis: Brazil is among a number of countries that have adopted special immigration measures for Ukrainians following Russia’s invasion of the country. The U.S. has announced that Ukraine would be designated for Temporary Protected Status and has waived COVID-19 entry requirements for some travelers. In Europe, the European Council has introduced temporary measures for individuals fleeing Ukraine.
