Saudi Arabia | Saudization minimum salary thresholds to increase in 2027, 2028

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced new minimum salary thresholds for Saudi employees to be fully counted under the Nitaqat Saudization rate program.

Key takeaways:

The ministry will introduce the new minimum monthly salary thresholds in two phases:

  • Effective April 25, 2027, the minimum monthly salary threshold will increase to SAR 5,000 (approximately US$1,333).
  • Effective April 25, 2028, the minimum monthly salary threshold will increase to SAR 6,000 (approximately US$1,600).
