United Arab Emirates | UAE updates guidance for remote-work visas

The Emirati government issued updated guidelines for remote-work visa applicants as of December 2025.

Key Points:

• The remote-work visa, announced in March 2021, allows foreign nationals employed outside the UAE to live and work in the UAE for a one-year period.
• The new guidelines require foreign nationals to submit proof of earning a monthly salary of no less than US$3,500 or the equivalent in local currency.
• Foreign nationals must provide evidence that they work for an entity outside the UAE and that the work is being done remotely.
• Foreign nationals can apply for a remote-work visa through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security’s public services platform.
