Immigration News - United States United States | USCIS extends download deadline before disposing of certain E-Verify records Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) January 8, 2026 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services published an update on Jan. 2, 2026, informing E-Verify employers that they “now have until Jan. 22, 2026, to download records for E-Verify cases last updated on or before Dec. 31, 2015.” Key Points: USCIS will dispose of E-Verify records that are more than 10 years old on Jan. 23, 2026. To retain E-Verify case information, immigration program administrators can download the “Historical Records Report” that includes basic company details, case identifiers and case resolution information. USCIS also provided this instruction regarding the download extension: “Employers who have not already done so must record the E-Verify case verification number on each corresponding Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, or attach a copy of the case details page to the Form I-9. Employers should retain the Historical Records Report with the Forms I-9.” Additional Information: Download instructions for retaining E-Verify records can be found here.
