Mexico | New system simplifies consular services in the US

Foreign Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente announced the completion of Mexico’s consular service simplification process in the United States, including new technology to streamline processes.

Key Points:

• A new appointment platform and Single Window are now available via the Mi Consulado portal, streamlining nearly all consular procedures.
• The new model aims to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability, while addressing issues such as fraudulent practices in appointment scheduling.
• The Legal Advisory Program (PALE) now includes over 2,000 legal professionals, enhancing access to justice for Mexican nationals in the U.S.
• The new system also reduces the number of requirements for Mexican nationals to return to Mexico with household goods and work tools.
