European Union | ETIAS fee has increased to 20 euros

The European Commission announced that the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) fee will be 20 euros, an increase from the previously listed 7 euros.

Key Points:

• The fee increase aims to cover the operating costs of ETIAS and considers inflation rates and the fees of similar travel authorization programs.
• The fee will go into effect as soon as ETIAS is operational, which is expected at the end of 2026.
• Certain groups, including individuals under 18 or over 70, will be exempt from paying the fee.

Additional Information: ETIAS is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals traveling to 30 European countries for short-term stays — normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. More information can be found on the ETIAS website.
