What is the change? Guatemala’s National Immigration Authority has published new immigration filing fees for 2019.

What does the change mean? Effective Jan. 7, government fees will increase for applicants filing for residence status and certification of immigration records.

  • Effective date: Jan. 7.
  • Visas/permits affected: Work and residence permits.
  • Who is affected: Employers sponsoring applicants in any of the above categories.

Background: Fees for some key categories are as follows (all rates in U.S. dollars):

The payment for immigration fees is made in quetzales at the daily exchange rate calculated and published by the Central Bank of Guatemala.
