Immigration News - Japan Online passport renewal made available Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) April 18, 2023 IMPACT — MEDIUM The Japanese government has introduced a new online passport renewal option for qualifying Japanese nationals. Key Points: Japanese nationals can now renew their passports online through this website if: Their passport has less than one year of validity. There are three or fewer empty pages for stamps. Individuals will need their My Number Card signature electronic certificate PIN to renew their passport online. Passports will be invalidated for those who do not pick up their passport within six months of it being issued. Those who are applying for the first time, whose passports have already expired or who have changed their name or address are not eligible for online renewal.
