Temporary protection extended for Ukrainian nationals Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) December 1, 2022 IMPACT — MEDIUM The government of the Czech Republic recently extended temporary protection to Ukrainian nationals until April 2024. Key Points: Ukrainian nationals living in the Czech Republic can now extend their temporary protection until March 31, 2024. To receive the extension, Ukrainian nationals must register electronically for temporary protection before the March 31 deadline. (Is there a website we can link to where they must register electronically?) Once registered, individuals will receive an appointment date no later than Sept. 30, 2023, to receive their new visa sticker. Ukrainian nationals who do not register or attend their scheduled appointment date will not receive the temporary protection extension. BAL Analysis: Under the directive, temporary protections will cover Ukrainian nationals who fled the war in Ukraine for an extended period of time. Employers and employees are reminded that actions taken as a result of the invasion of Ukraine may change with little or no notice. This alert has been provided by the BAL Global Practice group.
