COVID-19: K-ETA program expanded

The South Korean government announced that it will add eight countries or regions to its Visa Waiver Entry program (K-ETA) in November.

Key Points:

• Beginning Nov. 1, travelers from an additional eight countries or regions, including Japan, Kiribati, Macao, Micronesia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Taiwan and Tonga, will be able to submit applications for K-ETA.
• A total of 112 countries or regions will be eligible for K-ETA as of Nov. 1.
• Travelers eligible for K-ETA should submit applications through this website at least 72 hours before departure. Due to the high volume of K-ETA applications, individuals are encouraged to apply at least two weeks before departure if possible.

Additional Information: Individuals can travel to South Korea under K-ETA for tourism, visiting relatives, or to participate in events, meetings or other nonprofitable business activities. More information regarding the K-ETA program is available here.
