Immigration News - Japan COVID-19: Entry restrictions extended, arrival limits lowered Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) January 18, 2022 The Japanese government has extended entry restrictions and lowered the daily arrival cap for Japanese nationals and foreign residents. Key Points: Authorities have extended the suspension of the new entry of foreign nationals until at least Feb. 28. Authorities have paused the special entry “screening certificate” process until further notice. Individuals who are allowed to enter the country will no longer qualify for quarantine exemptions or reductions. Authorities reduced the daily arrival cap from 5,000 to 3,500, including Japanese nationals and residents. Additional Information: Authorities have lifted the travel ban for those traveling from Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
