COVID-19: Inbound travel suspended until further notice

The government of Madagascar recently suspended all inbound travel to the country until further notice. The measure was taken to prevent COVID-19 variants from entering the country.

Key Points:

• The borders are now closed to all international travel.
• No passenger transport authorization will be given to inbound flights.
• Madagascar citizens are not allowed to return to the country at this time.
• Foreigners residing in Madagascar are permitted to be repatriated to their home countries. Planes responsible for repatriating foreigners will be required to travel without passengers to Madagascar in order to transport foreigners out of the country.
