Jeff Joseph

Jeff is a Partner with BAL and leads the Denver office, where he guides corporate clients on global immigration initiatives. He has more than two decades of experience advising clients in a wide variety of industries on immigration law and policy. A skilled advocate, Jeff has represented clients before the Department of Homeland Security, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. District Courts, and the Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Well-known throughout the immigration legal community, Jeff has served in numerous positions with the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He currently serves as Second Vice President on AILA’s Executive Committee and is a past Chapter Chair of the Colorado Chapter in addition to having served for six years as director on the AILA National Board of Governors. Jeff also served as Vice Chair of the Immigration Law Section of the Federal Bar Association and President of the Colorado Chapter of the FBA.

Jeff enjoys teaching others about immigration law, explaining complex concepts with ease. As a thought leader in the field, he has given more than 200 lectures to professional organizations on wide-ranging aspects of immigration law. Jeff also teaches and mentors the next generation of immigration attorneys, serving as an adjunct professor of immigration law at the University of Denver College of Law. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
