Xiao Lu

Xiao is an Associate at the Chicago office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, where he assists corporate clients with a variety of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters. Xiao has experience filing nonimmigrant petitions, including H-1B, L-1, O-1A, O-1B, E-2, TN, and R-1. He also has worked with clients on facilitating their employees’ permanent residence applications through PERM labor certification, EB-1A Extraordinary Ability, EB-1C Multinational Manager, EB-2 National Interest Waiver, EB-4 Religious Workers, EB-5 Investor Program, and Adjustment of Status processes.

Prior to joining BAL, Xiao practiced at large and boutique immigration law firms in New York and Chicago, where he supported Fortune 500 clients in consulting, cosmetic, and manufacturing sectors, as well as small and mid-sized corporate clients across a variety of industries. His pro bono efforts have included assisting DACA applicants in the greater Chicago area. Xiao is a native Mandarin Chinese speaker.
