“I believe in people and their potential.  I believe that diversity of thought, experience and culture enriches and strengthens our world.”

Vernadette is a Partner at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, and oversees the Global Immigration Practice for the Dallas office. She has over eighteen years’ experience in practicing corporate immigration law, and provides expert advice to clients in managing successful global immigration programs. Vernadette represents clients in a variety of industries, with a primary focus in aerospace, high tech, engineering, and construction. Her client base ranges from companies with emerging international programs to those well established in over 60 countries.

Vernadette started in the US Practice where she guided clients in all aspects of U.S. immigration, including employment-based non-immigrant visas, PERM labor certification applications, immigrant petitions, and adjustment of status. Her transition to the Global Practice was an organic one as companies built their international presence.  Assisting companies to navigate immigration in other countries was a natural extension in service.

Prior to joining BAL, Vernadette practiced immigration with several firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, including a prestigious law firm specializing in criminal deportation and business immigration, a boutique immigration firm, and a large full service immigration firm.
