Ruth is a Staff Attorney in the Walnut Creek office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, advising clients on employment-based U.S. immigration matters, including both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. Ruth works on employment-based immigration matters, including PERM labor certification applications, immigrant visa petitions and adjustment-of-status applications.
Ruth started her legal career with BAL as a Paralegal before attending law school and continued to work at BAL as a Law Clerk during summers while she attended law school. She gained additional experience working on family-based immigration matters, asylum applications, and special immigrant juvenile applications. Ruth earned a certificate in Immigration and Citizenship Law and International Law and received Law Excellence certificates in Asylum and Refugee Law and Immigration Law from her law school, where she also served as President of the Hispanic/Latinx Law Students Association. Ruth remains active in providing pro bono services at legal clinics, supporting immigrants in asylum and naturalization applications.
