Michael Miguel

Michael Miguel is a Senior Associate in Berry Appleman & Leiden’s San Francisco office. He currently advises and represents multinational corporate clients on all aspects of U.S. nonimmigrant visa matters.  His expertise covers all types of business immigration matters, including immigrant (PERM, I-140, etc.) and nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, etc.). 

Prior to joining BAL, Michael worked for a well-established boutique law firm in the Bay Area, advising emerging startups and multinational corporations in industries such as e-commerce, software development, telecommunications, medical devices, food services, manufacturing, financial services, and nonprofit organizations.

Michael received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he was a member of the California Law Review and the Asian American Law Journal.  He served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jon S. Tigar in the United States District Court, Northern District Court of California.  He also served as a law clerk for the Asian Law Alliance, where he worked on immigration cases involving domestic violence and human trafficking.

Prior to law school, Michael was a high school A.P. history and government teacher at the Academy of Our Lady of Guam.
