Fizza is a Staff Attorney in the Houston office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, working on all aspects of employment-based immigration, including nonimmigrant and immigrant matters, such as case evaluation, strategy, and RFEs.
Prior to joining BAL, Fizza worked as an attorney at Catholic Charities on various aspects of immigration relief, including U Visa, T Visa, VAWA, refugee and residency matters. During her time at the University of Houston Law Center, Fizza was a student attorney at the Criminal Defense Clinic, representing indigent clients–a passion which she also pursued with Restoring Justice. Additionally, Fizza served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Ravi K. Sandill of the Harris County 127th District Court and advocated for immigrant women seeking humanitarian relief as an intern with the Tahirih Justice Center. Fizza speaks English, Urdu, and Spanish.
