Fernanda is an Associate in the New York office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, where she assists multinational corporate clients with all aspects of corporate U.S. immigration, including employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. She also provides compliance advice and guidance to clients on all immigration matters, working alongside clients’ legal departments, global mobility teams, and HR departments. Fernanda has extensive experience in handling all aspects of immigration and nationality law, including preparation of H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-2, and TN nonimmigrant visa petitions; applications for labor certification; I-140 immigrant petitions; extraordinary ability, multinational manager, and executive immigrant visa petitions; adjustment of status applications; consular processing; and naturalization.

Before joining BAL, Fernanda worked as an associate at the immigration practice of a New York multi-practice law firm, representing corporate clients, non-profit organizations, and foreign nationals across a wide spectrum of industries to efficiently obtain U.S. immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. Before that, Fernanda provided legal counsel to small and mid-size corporations, entrepreneurs, and other entities based in Brazil with plans to expand to the U.S. She also served on a team of New York attorneys that successfully represented shareholders in one of the largest class-action lawsuits ever litigated in U.S. history.
