Anjali is an Associate in the Denver office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, working on all nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters. She has experience in H-1Bs and E-2s as well as PERM, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa petitions, and adjustment of status and naturalization applications. Anjali has represented clients before the Department of Homeland Security, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts.

Prior to joining BAL, Anjali worked for a boutique immigration firm, focusing on employment and family-based immigration as well as deportation and removal defense, and asylum and refugee law. Anjali previously worked for USCIS at the Department of Homeland Security. During her time at USCIS, Anjali was a Refugee Officer, interviewing and processing refugee applications in Tanzania, Iraq, and Jordan, and an Asylum Officer, adjudicating affirmative and defensive asylum applications at USCIS Field Offices in New York, California, Florida, Virginia, and Colorado, and detention centers in Texas. She also worked at the USCIS Denver Field Office adjudicating Adjustment of Status and naturalization applications. Prior to USCIS, Anjali worked as corporate counsel for a financial services company in Washington D.C. and New York City and was an appellate law clerk. Outside of her immigration practice, Anjali’s pro bono efforts include parole, asylum, and removal defense representation. She speaks English and Spanish.
