Alex is a Staff Attorney in the New York City office of BAL. In this role, he assists with the maintenance of casework quality and consistency. He evaluates cases and assists in providing case strategies and solutions.
Alex performs legal research to prepare immigration-based filings for complex case management and guides clients and their employees through immigration processes. He is adept at analyzing facts, patterns and complex legal issues to provide sound legal advice.
Prior to joining BAL, Alex worked as an assistant district attorney for the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office prosecuting domestic violence crimes. Additionally, he worked with the Columbus Community Legal Clinic at The Catholic University of America as a student attorney, representing detained migrants during their bond hearings, and preparing asylum seekers for their asylum interviews.
Alex has interned with several nonprofit organizations, including Lawyers without Borders and Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain, focusing on international human rights issues. Prior to law school, Alex also worked as a legal assistant at an immigration firm in Chicago, assisting with nonimmigrant petitions (H, L, R, TN visas) and immigrant petitions (EB-1, PERM, I-140, I-485), as well as naturalization applications (N-400).
