What is the change? Guatemala’s National Immigration Authority has published new immigration filing fees for 2019.
What does the change mean? Effective Jan. 7, government fees will increase for applicants filing for residence status and certification of immigration records.
Background: Fees for some key categories are as follows (all rates in U.S. dollars):
Two years: $300
Three to five years: $300
The payment for immigration fees is made in quetzales at the daily exchange rate calculated and published by the Central Bank of Guatemala.
Analysis & Comments: Companies should take note of the increased fees and adjust their budgets if necessary.
