France has changed COVID-19 entry, testing and quarantine protocols for travelers from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.

Key Points:

  • Travelers from the countries listed above will only be permitted entry to France if they have a “compelling reason.”
  • Travelers over 11 years of age from any of the aforementioned countries are now required to provide (1) a negative PRC COVID-19 test taken less than 36 hours before boarding their flight or (2) a negative PCR test taken less than 72 hours before boarding and a negative antigenic test take less than 24 hours before boarding.
  • Travelers from any of the countries above must complete a strict 10-day quarantine upon arrival and will be asked to provide proof of their location during the isolation period. Failure to comply with quarantine measures could lead to financial sanctions.
  • Additional information and forms needed for travel are available here.

Additional Information: Travelers are reminded that even if they are coming from an EU or “green listed” third country, their travel history for the 14 days before their trip to France will be taken into account when determining their eligibility to enter France and the conditions of their entry.

Analysis & Comments: Individuals from any of the aforementioned countries intending to travel to France should work with their immigration provider to discuss the best available options. The response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to develop, and Deloitte will provide additional updates as information becomes available.
